The theme for this training is, „Befriending Shame“. Shame is a powerful somatically felt emotion that often disconnects us, causing pain and bringing about a lot of suffering. Often, it is hidden and kept secret because it questions, denies, or threatens our sense of self-worthiness, leading to great loneliness. During this weekend, we will explore our relationship with shame, what triggers it, and explore the habitual ways we use to protect ourselves from the feeling of shame. The Hakomi practice of Loving Presence offers us a way of meeting this strongly felt emotion with compassion, a gentle and loving curiosity that invites us to open again to a genuine heartfelt connection in ourselves and our relationships with others.
